Book Review: Secrets of the Fairy Ring by Dominic Guard

Can you see fairies?
Look carefully inside Secrets of Fairy Lore
and you will find Mab  and the
three Elemental Fairies in the
Enchanted Fairy Wood.
Move closer and join them
on their journey as they search for
 Mab's magical Fairy Dust.

As written on the left side of the page of this really delightful children's book. Illustrated by Marsela Hadjindak-Krec Tamsin Hinrichsen. Now this is one unique children's book. On the surface it looks like a book but lift the magnet a the side and pop! This is what you get in the inside.

Unique huh?

Queen Mab rules her Fairy Kingdom with enchanted stories. To aid her story telling, she uses the Fairy Dust to help her enhance her story. With this Fairy Dust, her subjects are happy and her kingdm flourished with joy and happiness.

One unfortunate day, when it was time for another story time Queen Mab has had her Fairy Dust stolen! Without her Fairy Dust, she wont be able to tell a story and if she can't tell a story, she wont be Queen anymore! What will happen to her people then?

The Queen summoned her favourite cousins the Elemental Fairies.

~*Fire*~
Known as Blaze to her close friends. She brave, fearless and tend to get playful at the wrong time. Think of RainbowDash from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

~*Water*
Known as Lilly to her friends. She is the cleverest and have the most level head on her shoulders among her cousins. Think of Twilight Sparkle from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

~*Air*

Known as Faye to her friends, she is polite, quiet and shy, have the best diplomatic skills due to her gentle nature. Think of Fluttershy from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Now these cousins are so different from each other that they often break out in arguments. Queen Mab entrusted these three beautiful fairies to help her find her Fairy Dust as soon as possible. Thus begin adventure for these plucky fairies into the unknown. Alng the way, these girls learn the truth about the Fairy Dust thief and what it means to work together as a team.

I give this book 5/5 for it's effort for being aesthetic and creative. When reading this book I actually arranged the figurines on the table and looked at them every time the fairies have a turn in their dialogues! It was so much more fun that way! I think I will keep this to be passed down to my own future children.

Girl's FB Types

~*The Emo*~

Her FB page is full of sad quotations, depressing lyrics. Her FB stats are always in the line of  "What is life if full  of bane?" or "My Existance, A Bane, My Meaning of Self, Worthless" or "Why does it feel so heavy to smile?"

Sigh....she probably is depressed or going to some tough time. She is seeking help. I know it can be annoying but would you like to wake up one day and see RIP *their name* flood their fb wall? A simple 'talk to me Im here to listen is all it takes'.

~*The Bitch*~

She has million friends, million pictures, million statuses and equally changes her boyfriends a million times.
She pretends to be your friend and when the time is right she attack your weak spot. Her profile pictures consist mostly pictures of herself in very little clothes, duck faced and bucket-thick makeup on. Why do people want such people on their friend's list is beyond me.

~*The Awesome One*~

She's die-hard. She doesn't give a sh*t what you think about her. She's sensible, smart and confident. Her statuses are something of the line "I hope my Terminator lecturer is in a good mood today! XD". It's always a delight to read her statuses. =)

~*The Complainer*~

ZOMGWHYAREGUYSSUCHDICXZZZZ!!!! Perhaps people don't care about her that much so se chose to make us miserable by spamming our homepage.
Sound's familiar?

~*The Illiterate*~

She writes like she didn't even make it to kindergarten. "wat r u tinkin?" or "OMYGADZ da band iz in townnnn". This is where the Love, Daniel stuff comes in. Please correct her mistakes and make her feel stupider than she already is.

The Story of Junko Furuta ~ 44 days of Hell

This is the unfortunate story of Junko Furuta. The young girl who was brutalized until her tragic death. This is her ordeal in chronological order.

Junko Furuta. The girl who went through 44 days of torture.

DAY 1: November 22, 1988: Kidnapped
Kept captive in house, and posed as one of boy’s girlfriend
Raped (over 400 times in total)
Forced to call her parents and tell them she had run away
Starved and malnutritioned
Fed cockroaches to eat and urine to drink
Forced to masturbate
Forced to strip in front of others
Burned with cigarette lighters
Foreign objects inserted into her vagina/anus

DAY 11: December 1, 1988: Severely beat up countless times
Face held against concrete ground and jumped on
Hands tied to ceiling and body used as a punching bag
Nose filled with so much blood that she can only breath through her mouth
Dumbbells dropped onto her stomach
Vomited when tried to drink water (her stomach couldn’t accept it)
Tried to escape and punished by cigarette burning on arms
Flammable liquid poured on her feet and legs, then lit on fire
Bottle inserted into her anus, causing injury

DAY 20: December10, 1989: Unable to walk properly due to severe leg burns
Beat with bamboo sticks
Fireworks inserted into anus and lit
Hands smashed by weights and fingernails cracked
Beaten with golf club
Cigarettes inserted into vagina
Beaten with iron rods repeatedly
Winter; forced outside to sleep in balcony
Skewers of grilled chicken inserted into her vagina and anus, causing bleeding

DAY 30: Hot wax dripped onto face
Eyelids burned by cigarette lighter
Stabbed with sewing needles in chest area
Left nipple cut and destroyed with pliers
Hot light bulb inserted into her vagina
Heavy bleeding from vagina due to scissors insertion
Unable to urinate properly
Injuries were so severe that it took over an hour for her to crawl downstairs and use the bathroom
Eardrums severely damaged
Extreme reduced brain size

DAY 40: Begged her torturers to “kill her and get it over with”

January 1, 1989: Junko greets the New Years Day alone
Body mutilated
Unable to move from the ground

DAY 44: January 4, 1989: The four boys beat her mutilated body with an iron barbell, using a loss at the game of Mah-jongg as a pretext. She is profusely bleeding from her mouth and nose. They put a candle’s flame to her face and eyes.

Then, lighter fluid was poured onto her legs, arms, face and stomach, and then lit on fire. This final torture lasted for a time of two hours.

Junko Furuta died later that day, in pain and alone. Nothing could compare 44 days of suffering she had to go through.

When her mother heard the news and details of what had happened to her daughter, she fainted. She had to undergo a psychiatric outpatient treatment . Imagine her endless pain.

Her killers are now free men. Justice was never served, not even after 20 years.
They deserve a punishment much greater than they had put upon Furuta, for putting an innocent girl through the most unbearable suffering.

This story from 1989 is true. Please spread her story around. Everyone should know about the existence of Junko Furuta’s unimaginable and incomprehensible suffering, and this is why this group has been made.

Invite your friends. Never let her story be forgotten. If this story changes the life of at least one person then it has been worth it.

Rest In Eternal Peace,
Junko Furuta

Notable Miss Universe's Throughout The Years

Se we all are familiar with the Miss Universe pageants. Heck we have been growing up with it since we were born. I know some people are enthusiastic about it, never missing this event every year and I know my aunt used to record this on VHS(this was in the 90's). So how much do we know about this event? Anyone can tell?

That's...very interesting, Melvin. Anyone else?

Very good, though I still question the credibility of this whole beauty pageant thingy, I still like to see the competitiveness between each girl sent from their respective country trying to bag the title and make their world known.

The very first Miss Universe, Armi Kuseela of Finland, 1952. Hats off to you, Miss Pioneer.

The very first Asian Miss Universe, Akiko Kojima, 1959. Beautiful woman, indeed. Doesn't have typical Japanese features.

Janelle Commissioning from Trinidad-Tobago. First Black woman to win a Miss Universe title in 1977. Hat's off to you madam, for making a change! By the way, love your youthful smile.

Angela Visher, first Netherlander to win the title in 1989. Classic beauties should make a comeback.

Crowning moment of glory for India when Sushmita Sen won the esteemed title in 1994! Yeah!

Another winner from Tobago-Trinidad, Wendy Fitzwilliam, 1998. Another exotic beauty, bravo! Janelle Commissioning would be proud of you!

First African beauty to win the Miss Universe title, Miss Mpule Kenielwe  Kwelagobe from Botswana, 1999. Now people would know there are good things still exist in Botswana after all.

Lara Dutta became the second Indian to bag the title in year 2000. Another thing India can boast about!

Amelia Vega, first Dominican Republic to win the title in 2003.

Yet another exotic beauty from Angola to bag the latest 2011 Miss Universe title, Miss Leila Lopes! Congratulations!

Know Your Skull Type

So we all come from a diverse genetic makeups from all walks of life. Physical features that are visible to the naked eye pretty much tells apart of our ethnicities. What we see is indeed skin deep, shall we take a look at the core? The skull, especially?

~*Caucasoid*~

  • Caucasian, or white, European descended people have relatively no prognathism (or the extension of the lower jaw) and relatively little projection of the alveolar ridge, or the bones which contain teeth. Faces are typically smaller, with a tear-shaped nasal cavity and tower-shaped nasal bones. The palate is triangular and the skull has a sloping eye orbital formation. The forehead and cranium are prominent.
Example of people of Caucasoid Skulls: Indian, White Dudes, Arabian, Iranian and most Westerners and Middle Easterners.

~*Mongoloid*~

  • Mongoloid, or Asian, people have small to no extension of the lower jaw and the nasal sill or dam, and an oval nasal cavity. The nasal bones are tent-shaped and the palate is horseshoe-shaped. The eye orbital is rounded and non sloping, and the cranium is generally rounded.
Example of people of Mongoloid Skulls: Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian and most 'Asian' variety.
    ~*Negroid*~
  • Black, or Negroid, skulls feature a broad and round nasal cavity and no dam or nasal sill. There is notable facial projection in the jaw and mouth area and a rectangular palate. The eye orbit shape is square or rectangular. The skull is dolichocephalic, which means longer from front to back proportionally.
Example of people of Negroid Skull Types: Countries like Nigeria, Senegal, Zimbabwe. Ones we call The Continents.

Movie Review: Dream House (2011)

Ah, Daniel Craig did it again. He released 2 movies this year and secretly married his co-star Rachel Weisz that cheeky devil!

In this new thriller-mystery movie, Daniel Craig took a break from his 'Bond' persona(admit it, he still had that Bond thing going on in his other new movie Cowboy's and Aliens, 2011).

Will Atenton(Daniel Craig) quit his job in the big city just so he can spend more time with his family, who have moved to a small, quiet town to be a real family.

All was well until his neighbors are starting to show weird signs and uncomfortable intruders who seems have something he wants in the house. People were talking about the previous inhabitants and how they were brutally murdered. Will found himself and asking questions that unearthed horrible secrets.

Plot : 9/10

You need to watch the epic twist that will blow your mind. Kudos to Daniel for breaking off from his Bond stereotype and taking the daring role of a family man.

Review ~ The Girl in the Ice by Robert Bryndza

I'd give this 3.5 stars. It's his first book so there's that.  The plot ran smoothly with realistic dynamics between character...
